Menu item editor
The Menu Item Editor lets you create or update a single menu item.
Where to find it
- Tools > Menu Editor > Add
- Tools > Menu Editor > Edit on any item
Required fields
Required fields depend on the menu kind. For example:
- Food: Name
- Cocktails: Name, Main spirit, Ingredients & specs, Price
- Wine: Producer, Wine name, Varietal, Type
Common fields
- Description: Uses rich text for tasting notes or prep details.
- Price: Free text. Plain numbers display as currency automatically ("16" shows as $16), and you can also write things like "$3 per prawn" or "Market price".
- Allergens: Add allergens and optional modification notes (if the field is present).
- Ingredients: Type an ingredient and press comma (or Enter) to turn it into a pill. Remove one with its ×. Cocktails use a spec sheet instead, with a measured amount per ingredient.
- Custom properties: Extra fields your team added for that menu kind.
Images
- Upload an image to help staff identify the item.

Visibility and flags
- Show in Off-Menu Features highlights the item on Home, grouped into a card per product type (Food, Cocktails, Wine, and so on).
- Mark as 86'd hides the item as unavailable.
